Description

Wonderful early 19th century engraving of a Pinscher, painted by Abraham Cooper RA, (1787-1868) and engraved by John Scott, (1774-1827) the face has an anthropomorphic character, is has all the details listed under, "Pincher, The property of Abraham Cooper RA is with permission humbly dedicated to Sir J E Swinburne Bart. F R S, F A S by his most obedient servant John Scott
There is also a paper label to reverse Edward Hope framer and gilder.
Sir John Swinburne(1762-1860), 6th Baronet, born in Bordeaux, his family home is Capheaton Hall, Northumberland, he served as member of parliament for Launceston for the Whig party from 1788.
The piece is in good condition for age, the frames shows signs of wear and is loose.
Size 37 cm X 31.5 cm. framed
