19th Century Coin Operated Polyphon

Description

An upright walnut polyphon playing 20 inch interchangeable metal discs, with a crank wound movement and coin slots either side with signs stamped ‘Drop a Penny in the Slot’, the walnut case having a decorative pediment to the top with shell decoration and turned pillars, with applied turned pillars to the front door which has wood frets to the top corners and an arched glass front above, in which is set the name ‘Polyphon’ with a brass plaque to the bottom of the door. Under which is a lockable drawer for collecting the coins, complete with ten discs. The polyphon has been recently serviced and is working perfectly.
