Description

This lovely bisque-head doll dates from c.1910. She has A.M. Germany 351./3'/2.K.' moulded into the back of her head. She has a bisque head with glass sleeping eyes, and an open mouth with two teeth. She has a jointed composition and papier mache body and bent composition limbs. She is wearing an antique style, but more modern, white dress, bonnet and underslip.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age. She has some grubbiness and scuffing to the paintwork of her head, including a scuff on her right-hand cheek. There is some significant paint loss to her eyelids and her left-hand eye is very slightly recessed. Her body has some chipping and rubbing around the joints. We believe her to have been restrung at some point. Her clothing is in good condition with some light wear, grubbiness and discolouration. Her underslip has some fraying and loose threads.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
35cm high.
