Description

This sweet bisque-head doll dates from c.1910. She has A.M. Germany 351./6.K.' moulded into the back of her head. She has a bisque head with glass sleeping eyes, and an open mouth with two teeth. She has a jointed five-piece composition body with bent limbs. She is wearing a vintage vest.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age. There is some slight surface wear and scuffing to her head, and some tiny flakes in the paintwork of her face. There is some scuffing to the back of her head. Her eyes are a little stiff and there is some significant paint loss to her eyelids. Her body has some wear and some manufacturing imperfections, as might be expected. It has some cracking in places, including to her right-hand shoulder, her right-hand upper arm, her upper left leg, and the sole of her right foot. There is some wear around her joints and she looks to have been restrung at some point. Her vintage vest has some wear, grubbiness and discolouration consistent with age. It shows some signs of repair (darning).
