Large 21" Bisque-Head AM Black Dream Baby Doll

Description

This lovely bisque-head doll dates from c.1910. She has 'A.M. Germany 351/7.K.' moulded into the back of her head. She has a bisque head with glass eyes, and an open mouth with a single tooth (one is missing). She has a jointed papier mache and composition body and bent composition limbs. She is wearing a more modern vintage babygro, knitted socks and leather shoes.

Condition: Overall in fair condition with some significant wear consistent with age. She has some grubbiness, heavy scratching and scuffing to the paintwork of her head. Her head has also been touched up in quite a few places. Her eyes should sleep, but are inoperative. She is missing a tooth. There is some paint scuffing to the back of her head and around her neck. Her body is heavily damaged and shows significant signs of restoration. Her torso is cracked, crazed and crushed and her limb sockets have been re-built. Her limbs have been over-painted at some point and have some chipping, cracking and wear to the paintwork. Her clothing is grubby and has some wear. The shoes have some staining.
