Description

This attractive tapestry / needlework picture dates from the late nineteenth century. It features a white girl sitting down with a book in her hand and a black man sitting beside her. The tapestry is framed in what appears to be an antique gilt-painted frame with pressed gilt-painted metal corners. The tapestry is pinned to a wooden mount with a card back.

Condition: Overall in fair-good condition with some wear consistent with age. The tapestry is faded and discoloured and some slight thinning to the stitches in places. The frame has some wear and damage. It is overall grubby and has some scuffing and wear to the frame and some minor losses to the paintwork.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Frame - 45cm by 40cm, 2.5cm deep.
