Description

This attractive antique games table dates from the late ninteenth century. It is a nice piece, but is in need of some restoration work. The table is an envelope table, with the four corners folded in when closed. When opened up the table features a green baize surface with games counter recesses in the flaps. The table has lovely satinwood inlays, and has a single drawer to the front. It is supported on tapering legs which terminate in brass castors.

Condition: Overall this piece is in usuable condition but does have some wear and damage consistent with age and use and would benefit from some restoration work. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall faded. There are some significant areas of loss and damage to the veneers and inlay, and the mechanism which lifts a flap up to make it easier to open is worn. The metal fixings have some surface corrosion. There is some damage to the baize.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 76.5cm high (closed), 74.5cm high (open), 56cm square (closed), 79cm square (open) (to maximums).
