Description

This stunning antique games table looks to date from the first half of the nineteenth century. It is constructed from rosewood, some solid, some veneered over solid wood, with lovely satinwood and boxwood inlays. The table has a fold-over top which swivels and opens to reveal a replacement purple felt games surface. Beneath the top at one side is a sectionalised central drawer with a deep well drawer beneath, flanked on either side by two small drawers. The drawers retains lovely brass handles. The central drawer retains its lock, but plase note that no key is present. The table is supported on elegant tapering legs that terminate in brass and ceramic castors.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. It has been fully and professionally restored with some replacement parts, including the felt and the hinges to the inside of the top. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some flaws in the grain to the top of the table.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall (closed) - 74cm high, 75cm wide, 44cm deep (to maximums).
