Description

A fine quality Verge-Fusee solid silver pocket watch dated London 1848
The watch is working well with a strong tick and keeping time having just been serviced
Beautiful hand made movement with pieced balance cock and super engraving
Name engraved on the movement John Hood of Cupar Fife , fine maker of clocks and watches during this period
Watch enamel dial still in excellent condition for its age just , just a couple of light hairline cracks , black numerals gold hands
Both silver cases in excellent condition and match with Hallmarks London 1848
fit together well and all case hinges are fine, still with original loop and fixings , small button on the side to open the case ,watch glass all fine very clean
Nice to still have repairers papers , repaired by J .Hood in 1886 new mainspring written on the back
Watch size outer case 56cms diameter inner case 48cms diameter
Comes with a nice old pocket watch key
Really excellent quality original Pair Cased Verge -fusee and still working well 173 years old
