A fine Quality Original Omega watch with box
An Omega Constellation stainless steel chronometer grade calendar wristwatch dating to 1970, in great original unrestored condition. The case and dial present very well indeed and the 24 jewel chronometer grade movement runs and keeps time with the quick set calendar function operating correctly. This timepiece is signed five times, on the case, dial, crown, movement and crystal (which has the Omega symbol etched into the centre). The original Omega winding button , The leather strap is fitted with an Omega buckle i will also provide a leather Extra-long strap with the sale
The vintage Constellation was Omega's top of the range waterproof chronometer watches and today it remains one of the most ionic, sought after and collectible of all vintage watches. It is a high end model housing one of Omega's most revered movement, produced to compete with other prestige watches made by its main competitors, including Rolex, which at the time were cheaper than a similar Omega counterpart . A chronometer, as opposed to a chronograph (a stop watch), is a timepiece that has passed a series of stringent tests carried out by the world’s major observatories to demonstrate very accurate time keeping (hence the observatory emblem on the rear cover.
