This ebonised bracket clock is in wonderful condition, the case doesn’t show any signs of damage or any major scratches. All the glass in the clock is original. The dial masking around the top of the arch has been repaired and part of it replaced by our highly skilled case repairer. The Broken arch dial is in stunning order while the brass work remains untouched along with the pierced blued steel hands. The silver work has been re-blacked and resilvered by Westmorland glass in chesterfield the dial is signed Alex Wilson who is recorded as working in London Drury lane pre 1772.
The 5 pillar double fusee movement is in fabulous order having its original verge has been serviced and works faultlessly. The clock strikes on a single bell hourly with a pull repeat function. The intricate engraving on the backplate depicts foliage with a bird inflight to the centre. The clock has been throughly loved throughout its life and very well looked after.
The clock is 18.5 inches high with the handle up 10.5 inches wide and 7.5 inches deep. This clock has a grand presence about it even on a modern style fireplace or sideboard. I have tried to include as much detail in my description and photos as i can. should any interested parties wish to ask questions or to view the clock via a video calling platform or in the flesh i very much welcome them too.
