Description

Very nice example of a Mother of Pearl thimble from the Palais Royal in Paris. It has gilt metal bands and all over dimpling or knurling as is usual with these thimbles. It would never have had a pansy which symbolises many Palais Royal pieces, not all did by any means. The thimble is in excellent condition with no cracks or damage. It's quite a large size, unusually, measuring approximately 17mm internally at the opening and 26mm tall.
