Description

A good quality walnut three piece writing desk dating to circa 1880. With a red leatherette writing surface to the rectangular top, three frieze drawers and a further three drawers to each pedestal. All drawers are finished with line carving, original brass Arts & Crafts influenced handles and have locks stamped ‘C & T London’. On plinth bases with concealed castors.

In a warm shade of walnut and finished with a traditional wax, it is in good solid condition and the leatherette has been newly replaced, there is a key for the locks (the top right lock is broken), joins to the top right side have been filled and there has been some veneer loss to the sides that has been filled. This desk has had the back panels polished so could be used freestanding.
