Description

An unusual Scottish William IV figured elm bedside cabinet or pot cupboard dating to circa 1830. The square top with a double moulded edge above a front displaying narrow panelled edges flanking a fielded panelled door with re-entrant corners and on a plinth base, three strong drop flaps to the sides and rear provide plenty of additional surface space when needed. The vented interior with a single shelf and original brass fittings including ‘Walters Patent Bales’ roller catch and ‘Horne Patent’ hinges.

In good condition and designed in attractive and exceptionally well figured elm veneers to the front and top, minor marks consistent with age including some minor dark marks/scratches.
