Description

Very decorative pair of Aesthetic Movement mahogany hall chairs with ebony wood detailing throughout the back, seat and turned forelegs. The tympanum crested head rails lie above spindled galleried backs inset with Minton tiles by leading designer John Moyr Smith, in the blue and brown colourway. The tiles depict Guinevere and Enid (part of Tennyson's Idylls of the King series, c. 1875/6). The chairs are cleaned, waxed and ready to be placed in the home. The hall chairs would look lovely on either side of a hall table.
Where applicable, our upholstered items of stock are fully newly traditionally re-upholstered in-house using only traditional materials and no foam so as to be in-keeping with the age of the piece as an antique.
