Description

Very decorative pair of Arts and Crafts oak side chairs. The padded backs of the chairs have elongated uprights ending in block finials while the pierced head rail in each chair features two beautifully carved pomegranates. The padded backs and sprung seats are entirely traditionally re-upholstered from the frame by The Sitting Place (photos are available on our Facebook page). The chairs are then covered in Little Chintz fabric (olive and ochre) by Morris and Co. The pomegranate pattern of the fabric beautifully complements the carving in the chairs. The sprung seats are raised on tapering forelegs ending in block feet. These chairs would look stunning placed on either side of an Arts & Crafts sideboard, chest or bookcase. The bookcase and accessories are for display purposes only.
Where applicable, our upholstered items of stock are fully newly traditionally re-upholstered in-house using only traditional materials and no foam so as to be in-keeping with the age of the piece as an antique.
