This is such a beauty! The lid decoration makes this highly collectible (Equestrian themed Stratton compacts are hard to find) & it is such a bonus that this is also an uncommon model of Stratton - the '10-Sided Convertible'. The lid could not be more delightful. The background is heavy gilt 'bark effect' (like tree bark) with the the enchanting silhouette of two horses pulling an elegant coach containing a lady with a parasol & a small child. A liveried coach man seated at the rear & the driver holding the reigns. The lid has been protected with a coat of lacquer & it is as durable as it is beautiful. The original immaculate black felt pouch, unused pink silk & fabric puff & pink velvet edged sifter. This compact was manufactured between 1962 - 1968. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror is excellent & gives a very good reflection. The base is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'. Measures 3 1/4 inches diameter. Weighs 90.5 grams.
