A rare unused large enamel Stratton compact with absolutely gorgeous enamel. The lid is embellished with colourful and whimsical decorations which include a little dog and a splendid tree bearing all sorts of fanciful fruits, blooms and creatures. This super vanity is one of the largest Stratton brand compact mirrors. There isn't any loss of enamel or fading. The lacquered brass is a deep rich gold. This compact will not tarnish or need to be cleaned due to the exacting standards the maker employed during its crafting. The gleaming golden interior case contains a large clear mirror. The mirror bezel and inner lid are signed STRATTON. The guarantee rosette, pouch, puff and sifter are all present. The catches and hinges work perfectly. The inner lid (snap catch) bears the inscription PAT No 530653. The base of the compact is decorated with a spiral design. Measures 4 inches diameter and weighs 181.7 grams.
