Description

A lovely unused mid-century Stratton compact for loose foundation makeup. The lid is decorated with cream enamel which is decorated with the major London landmarks depicted in a gilt finish. The camera has not managed to capture the gilt finish of the lid decorations. The Shaftsbury Memorial Fountain, St. Paul's Cathedral and Tower Bridge can be seen. There is also a Beefeater, a policeman, a Queen's Guard and a crown on a cushion. There does not appear to be any loss of enamel or fading. The whole compact is gleaming clean and will not require any cleaning, as it is protected by a coat of clear enamel applied by the makers to prevent damage and tarnishing. The catches and hinges work well. The mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. Measures 3 inches diameter. Weighs 89 grams.

All the original accessories are present - the presentation box, felt pouch, guarantee rosette, signed puff and sifter. They are in super unused condition, as is the compact.
