A very rare 1950s Kigu compact which has the resemblance of a football (soccer ball). This compact mirror would make an ideal pearl wedding (30th anniversary) gift as the lid is set with mother of pearl and abalone. The whole piece is in excellent condition. All the original accessories are present-box, felt pouch, puff & sifter. A fabulous addition to any collection or special gift for her. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror is excellent. The powder well lid & base are decorated with intricate engine turned designs. The inner lid has a central oval cartouche engraved with the triangular Kigu trademark. Measures 21/2 inches diameter & weighs 60.7 grams.
