Description

A splendid Victorian 9ct yellow gold fob with 18 inch necklace. Finely crafted and elegant, this piece is suitable for ladies or gentlemen. The fully hallmarked mid-Victorian gold fob is set with Bloodstone. The hallmarks show this piece was assayed at London in 1867. The maker's mark is G K. The fob is in excellent condition. The Bloodstone is green jasper with red inclusions of hematite and also some hard to see, subtle white inclusions. The red inclusions are said to resemble spots of blood, hence the name Bloodstone. Deeply symbolic to Christians, the legend of Bloodstone refers to the stone being covered in the blood of Christ during the Crucifixion. Bloodstone is considered to be a powerful talisman giving the wearer courage & success and having the powers to dispel sadness. This would make an ideal gift for her or him, as we have included an immaculate twenty inch yellow gold fine diamond cut curb chain. The solid gold fob measures 2 cm high x 1.6 cm wide and weighs 6.2 grams.

The necklace is gold plated on hallmarked sterling silver and it measures 18 inches. The clasp works perfectly.
