A beautiful vanity created by Renzo Cassetti in the 1950s. This 800 silver clam-shell compact mirror was assayed at Florence. Image five shows the maker's mark (210 Fi).

Bright-cut engravings adorn all the exterior surfaces. Acanthus leaves and forget-me-nots are depicted on both sides. The acanthus leaf symbolizes immortality and enduring life in many cultures. Forget-me-nots represent true love and respect.

The bevelled mirror gives an accurate reflection. In certain lighting conditions the mirror appears to have age related haze. In different lighting conditions the mirror gives a clear reflection. The catch and hinge work properly. The compact is in good clean condition with no hint of powder residue. An immaculate pouch is included.
