A gleaming golden unused 1940s powder compact for all loose foundation powder. The lid is engraved with a beautiful engine turned design. This accessory was coated with a layer of transparent enamel by the makers and so it will not tarnish or need to be cleaned. The mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. A couple of minor age marks on the mirror. The mirror frame is signed STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND. The original accessories are present - presentation box, felt pouch, pretty floral puff and sifter. The compact is in excellent condition. The item code 146/ET is written neatly on the base of the presentation box. Measures 3 inches diameter. Weighs 61.6 grams.
