A lovely mid-century loose foundation compact which was made by Renzo Cassetti. This charming fully hallmarked vanity is fashioned into the shape of a clam-shell. The original sifter and puff are present and so this compact can be used with all loose foundation. The lid and base are decorated with splendid bright-cut engraving. Florid acanthus leaves emanate from forget-me-nots flowers. Acanthus leaves represent ever lasting life. The base is just as ornate as the lid - see image three. The mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. Fulls sets of hallmarks are easy to read. The clasps and hinges work exactly as they should. Measures 9 cm wide. Weighs 63.3 grams. An immaculate black velvet pouch is included.
