This lovely unused 1950s compact mirror is suitable as a cherished collectible, handbag mirror or for use with all loose foundation. The lid is decorated with an idyllic lakeside scene which is crafted from tin foil. The foil is such a good medium - the blue water, sky and mountains shimmer in the light.

The compact is in excellent condition. The mirror gives a good clear reflection. The base is embellished with a gilt lacquered finish. Measures 8.5 cm diameter. Weighs 76 grams. The catch and hinge work perfectly.

Due to the highly durable finish which the makers applied this compact will not tarnish or need to be cleaned.
