An impressive locket which was crafted in the Edwardian era. This delightful piece dates to 1908. It was assayed (tested for purity) at Chester Assay Office. The locket is embellished with forget-me-nots, ferns, ivy and acanthus leaves. Forget-me-nots are depicted to express true love and respect. Ferns symbolise sincerity. Ivy leaves symbolise devotion and loyalty. Acanthus leaves represent the desire for everlasting life.

The front features a splendid shield shaped cartouche which is inscribed with the letters K R or H R. The shield is depicted to express the desire to protect the wearer of the locket.

Both sides are fitted with the original frames and exquisite portraits.

The hinge and catch work perfectly.

This locket is suspended from an ornate 18 inch necklace.
