A delightful mid-century Stratton brand Princess powder compact which is fitted with a gorgeous handpainted bird scene which is signed by the artist. The lovely composition is embellished with an elegant stylized white crested bird. The etched copper plate forms part of the design. Floral motifs frame the scene. The base is decorated with gilded stars. The interior case contains a bevelled mirror which gives a good and accurate reflection. The catches and hinges work perfectly. The compact is presented with the original puff and sifter. An immaculate pouch is included. The compact is in good condition with slight signs of use. Measures 7.2 cm wide. Weighs 96 grams.
