This high quality antique fully hallmarked gold locket is suspended from a stylish 9 carat gold 18 inch necklace.

This portrait locket was crafted by Thomas James Skelton and assayed (tested for gold purity) at Chester Assay Office in 1910.

The highly ornate engravings shimmer in the light.

The anterior surface is embellished with superbly executed ivy leaves, forget-me-not flowers, peonies and convolvulus.

The posterior surface is also decorated with ivy leaves, forget-me-not flowers, ferns and a heart cartouche.

Ivy leaves represent strong bonds, loyalty, fidelity and friendship.

The heart shapes convey true love.

Forget-me-nots symbolise deep love and respect.

Ferns represent sincerity.

Peonies symbolise romance, prosperity and compassion.

Convolvulus, also known as bindweed, conveys the quality of perseverance.

This unique English gold locket is suitable to hold two photographs, locks of hair or miniature portraits.

The original solid gold photograph frame and both clear portrait protectors are included.

All clasps and hinges work perfectly.
