DESCRIPTION:

This is a superb example of a haberdashery counter made by Mordue Bros Ltd of Newcastle Upon Tyne the cabinet dates from the 1950s. This Haberdashery counter is beech framed and has 16 graduating drawers with beech fronts with box joints and oxidised copper cup handles and stands on reeded block legs, it has the brass yard rule to the top. The cabinet has been through the workshop and had a good clean and polish and has had the glass top replaced to laminated glass for safety and due to the scratches effecting the visibility into the cabinet. This due to its light a modern looking beech frame and drawers would suit many domestic settings especially as a kitchen island as so many are used for now as well has in a craft room or for storage or display of many other hobbies or collections. It would also suit many commercial settings as in high class boutiques again due to the modern timeless look of the beech frame and drawers as well as confectionary shops and in the now popular cupcake market.

WORKSHOP REPORT:

This cabinet counter is in superb condition with slight marks as anyone would expect to find due to use and its age. It has had a new laminated glass top fitted, and there is a very old repair to one of the drawer fronts something that as to be expected and accepted and is all part of the beauty, charm and history of the piece.
