DESCRIPTION:
Here we present an exceptional set of four oak haberdashery drawer cabinets dating from circa 1950. These cabinets were manufactured by Liddle Keen & Co Ltd, Shopfitting Specialists located at 19-23 Norland Road, Notting Hill, London.
All four cabinets are in superb condition, reflecting the care and appreciation they have received over the years. The set includes two cabinets, each featuring 16 glass-fronted drawers above four solid-front drawers, and two cabinets with 24 glass-fronted drawers above four solid-front drawers, all equipped with wooden pull handles.
The oak has mellowed to a beautiful honey hue, with a patina that only age and use can produce, attesting to their fantastic condition throughout.
Finding a complete set of four cabinets in today’s market is exceedingly rare, as even pairs are challenging to acquire. Additionally, we have two larger cabinets of the same style, CODE 0303 and CODE 0173, available on this site. These were produced by the same manufacturer and complement this set perfectly, offering a unique opportunity to assemble an exceptionally useful and distinguished collection of haberdashery cabinets. WORKSHOP REPORT:
Upon arrival, these cabinets were in excellent condition. During their time in the workshop, only minor adjustments were made, such as the removal of advertising stickers, followed by thorough cleaning and just a very general polish keeping original patina.
