Description

A very fine pair of 19th century Chinese sleeve bands in a vintage frame. Worked in Peking knot and gold thread on cream silk, the the embroidery, which includes crickets, butterflies and flowers, is beautifully intricate and detailed.

Dimensions: Frame - height 51 x width 20.5, textile 45.5 x 15.5 cm
Weight 772 g

Condition: The sleeve bands are in good antique condition though there is some detachment of the gold thread near the top of the left sleeve. The frame probably dates from the mid 20th century and though useable the buyer may wish to replace it and include a mount.
