Dial Brass arched dial with silvered chapter ring, brass spandrels to each corner. Blued steel hands with Roman numerals. Three winding holes, subsidiary Seconds dials and Strike/Silent and Chiming levers
Case Mahogany case, carved in a Chippendale manner
Movement The fusee movement chiming the quarters on four and eight bells
Condition Very good condition commensurate with age. The case has recently been sympathetically restored and the movement fully overhauled

Made specially for the late Sir Claude Graham-White for his yacht "Alacrity"

Sir Claude Graham-White born 1879, was one of the greatest pioneers of aircraft, winning premier prizes all over the world for his feats of daring

In 1910 he received £4000 for a 15 minute flight over Boston, Mass. and in September 1911 the Graham-White company undertook the first letters by Air Mail
