18th century fusee 4 tune mahogany Scottish clock


Description
A rare 2 train fusee Musical table clock by the renowned Robert ward of London circa 1770. this was commissioned for the Scottish market plays 4 tunes jigg - Minuet - Jigg -Silvered Arched dial original steel hands foliage engraved design with a pronounced urn waxed Roman numerals also numbered
solid oak case then flamed veneered in a arched case typical Scottish design for this period all dove tailed amazing quality fretwork side panel very fine work.
double fusee 8 day small movement chiming on the hour a full tune on a cascade of 8 bells beautiful sounds anchor escapement was a verge has been altered with a passing bell strike at half past comes with a silent feature also. engraved backplate
