WW2 1939-1945 Star.

This medal was awarded for any period of operational service overseas between 3rd September 1939 and 8th May 1945 lasting 180 days.
For Naval personnel, this was 180 days afloat in areas of operation laid out in regulations.
For RAF personnel the qualification was 60 days in an operational unit including at least one operational sortie.

This medal was not engraved with the recipient's name.

This full size medal measures approximately 4 cm (1.5") by 4.5 cm (1.75") excluding the suspension ring.
