2x York provincial silver teaspoons, 1841

Description

These York assayed fiddle pattern teaspoons were made by James Barber & William North. The spoons' finials have both been monogrammed.

The spoons carry matching hallmarks for James and William, the lion rampant for sterling silver, the Victoria head duty mark and the date mark for 1841.
There is no town assay mark, but this is not unusual for the York assay office who would only mark pieces "of importance" or "of significance".

The spoons are in reasonable condition. There is the normal age related surface scratching, and a few very minor dinks to the bowls.

Each spoon measures 14.2 cm (5.6") long. The combined weight is 36g.
All measurements are approximate.

Please see photos as these form an important part of the description.
