Wedgwood hummingbird pattern lustre bowl.
Pattern Z5294. Produced c1920.

This bowl has a blue lustre finish to the outside, with an orange lustre finish inside.
The outside face is decorated with five gilt hummingbirds, plus a continuous freeze of flying geese to the lip. Inside the bowl, this freeze of flying geese is repeated, plus there is a single large hummingbird in the bottom.
The bowl base is marked with the Wedgwood backstamp and is also marked with the pattern number "Z5294".

The bowl measures approximately 10.5 cm (4.1") in diameter across the top by 5.5 cm (2.3") deep (including the pedestal foot).

The bowl is in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or restorations. There is one small patch of white on the outside, under one of the gilt hummingbird designs. This is an original fault where the lustre finish did not fully take. There is some light wear to the gilding.
