Chester silver christening mug.

This christening mug is hallmarked for Chester, 1938, and the makers S Blackensee & Sons Ltd, who operated from Frederick Street and Hampton Street, Birmingham.
The marks are clear, except the maker's mark which has been partially rubbed away.

The mug is 6 cm ( 2,2") in diameter across the top, 5.2 cm (2") across the base, and stands 7.2 cm (2.9") tall. It weighs 51g.
All measurements are approximate.
The mug is in good condition but does show its age … there are small knocks all over and the top rim and bottom rim are misshapen.
