Description

In classical mythology, Artemis (in Greek mythology) or Diana (in Roman mythology) is the goddess of hunting, the wilderness, wild animals and childbirth. She is the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and the twin sister of Apollo.
Artemis is often depicted carrying a bow and arrows, or, as in this interpretation, accompanied by a fawn, deer being sacred to her.

The design is the work of Marc Lalique (Rene's son) and dates to c1949. This example is of much later manufacture.
The design is no longer in production.

The figurine measures approximately 11.5 cm (4.5") tall. She kneels on a 5 cm (2") diameter base.
"Lalique ® France" is engraved to the side of the base, which also carries original Lalique labels.

The figurine is in excellent condition. There are no chips cracks or repairs, and only minimal wear to the base.
There is no box.
