Description

This is a top quality long John prayer stool. It is mid Victorian, dating to around 1870 and is made in solid walnut. The long stool has its original, dramatic Berlin needlework covering and the condition of this is exemplary. The stool stands on ogee feet and has good carved foliate detailing front and back. The walnut is rich and polished.

The condition of the stool is good. Good joints. No damage worm or repair.

These long prayer stools are good furnishing pieces. They look wonderful pulled up in front of a fireplace. They are rich and opulent and will suit a grand room furnished in antiques and vintage.

The stool is 53 inches long and 6 inches high and 13.5 inches deep.
