Description

This is beautifully elegant. It is a late Georgian fold over card table. It dates from 1820 - 1840. It is made in mahogany and has a swivel folding top which opens to reveal a green baize circular playing surface. The table has a frieze centred with a trefoil design and it is supported on an octagonal baluster column. Just look at the quality of the claw feet on this. They are magnificent. Beneath the feat are concealed original casters.

This is a quality period piece. The condition is good. There is a small carved detail missing from a back foot. I will add a photograph of it but this is minor.

The table can be used for board games or cards or jigsaws but will look wonderful in a principal room or hallway, perhaps with a lamp on top to illuminate the polished mahogany. It is a beautiful period furnishing piece.

The table is 36 inches wide and 30 inches high and 18 inches deep. With the top open it is 36 inches deep.
