his is a top quality rosewood French nineteenth century double bed. It takes a standard British double mattress. Do ask me for a delivery quote and when the courier can bring it to your home.

This French double bed is excellent quality. It is made in rosewood which is a wood always reserved for the best quality furniture. The quartered veneer to head and footboard are laid to a dramatic chevron design. The bed has solid carved rosewood knurled feet in the French manner. Look at the thickness of the rosewood moulded top rail. The headboard has the classic carved shell motif of this period of French design.

The bed was retailed through Seven Heaven in the last twenty years. Seven Heaven were a very famous bed restorers and retailers and a bed like this would have commanded a price of two to three thousand pounds. The bed is in good condition. It has replacement side irons and brackets and these make the bed rock solid when built.
As with all rail beds you will need to get some slats to run across the rails to form a base for your standard double mattress. These slats are readily available from any builders merchants at little cost.

The bed dismantles for transport.

Rosewood is a very opulent wood and this bed will look wonderful in a rich antique setting.

The headboard is 59 inches high and the footboard is 38.5 inches high. The bed takes a standard double mattress 54 inches wide and 76 inches long.
