Set of six Welsh fruitwood dining kitchen chairs

Description
These are a very good set of six dining or kitchen chairs. The chairs date to the late eighteenth Century, around 1795 and are made in a fruitwood with, possibly, ash seats. The chairs are from North Wales and have a characteristic design with the encased wooden balls in the mid rail. (You also see variations of this design in Welsh lovespoons.) The chairs are made with pegged joints, square front and back legs. These are a very handsome set of chairs. The chairs are very original and are in excellent condition for age. The joints are solid and there is no sign of damage. The wood has a wonderful patina but the chairs retain a freshness about them. They are very usable period chairs.
The chair seats are 18 inches high and 19 inches wide and the backs are 33 inches high.
