Description
Second World War period British commemorative bell which was cast out of the metal acquired from German aircraft shot down over Britain. The bells were sold in aid of the RAF Benevolent Fund. British home front associations.metal bell (H: 15cm, daimeter 12cm) with 'V' for Victory emblem on the handle the main body of the bell is adorned with the heads of Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin. Around the edge is the following embossed inscription : 'CAST IN METAL FROM GERMAN AIRCRAFT SHOT DOWN OVER BRITAIN 1939-1940 RAF BENEVOLENT FUND.'
