Description

Letters Patent number 1373 granted by Queen Victoria in 1855 to "William Jones of Birkinhead in the County of Chester, Boiler Maker for Improvements in machinery for punching and shearing plates of metal which improvements are also applicable to stamping and pressing metals and other substances".

Two sheets of penned vellum in great original condition attached to the original (but somewhat damaged) seal via the original cord. The seal is housed in its original metal box and everything is housed in the original leather-bound (but somewhat forlorn) wooden box.
