Description

A Good 19th century High Windsor Chair in Yew Wood with an Elm seat and Ash back legs, attributed to the workshop of Benjamin Gilling, Gilling moved from Yorkshire to Worksop circa 1840, employed up to 6 men but then went to the USA in circa 1850 to work, so a relativly short lived chair making workshop, the back splats of this chair are typical of his chairs some carry paper labels but not this chair. The condition is very good with a very pleasing colour and patina.
