We are delighted to offer for sale this absolutely stunning circa 1880 Victorian Walnut and Oak Chessboard set complete with Staunton chess pieces, Victorian Backgammon set and Roman / Neoclassical inlaid storage box

A truly stunning and highly collectable suite, this would have been an absolute must have for every English Gentleman's library or study. The chess set is of course a Staunton model, the board is pretty old and bowed from age, the box is sublime and a work of art in its own right, the backgammon set is wonderfully turned and comes with various spare pieces for your Kings!

All the pieces are hand turned from boxwood and oak, they are a large set not medium sized and would compliment well a larger board

Condition wise is period with a lovely well earned patina, the box has aged well and has a great colour, the board as mentioned is bowed with age

Payments

We accept payment via Bitcoin, Bitcoin cash, Ethereum, Bacs, Chaps, PayPal or Card, we would kindly ask that all items are paid for within 48 hours and collected within 7 working days, we can hold all paid items for 14 days free of charge, there after a £20 a week storage fee will apply. We have long term storage which is very economically priced, we are happy to hold stock for as long as needed providing it is arranged prior to the purchase.

If sold items aren’t collected within three months and no arrangements have been made for long term storage you will forfeit the item and payment.
