Description

A George II period Oak chest on stand dating from c 1730. The top with stepped concave cornice with canted corners above two short and three long Walnut feather banded Oak drawers with brass escutcheons and handles and with canted reeded corners. The base with thick waist moulding above two long corresponding drawers, the base drawer having a concave panel with starburst Walnut and fruitwood inlay, the whole standing on shaped bracket feet. Lovely mellow colour, good condition with various minor marks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use.
