Description

An early 18th Century Walnut Chest on stand dating from c 1700. The figured Walnut quarter veneered top banded with Burr walnut set within ebony and satin wood stringing above two short and three long Ebony and satinwood strung drawers with brass handles and escutcheons and with split moulding surround. The stand with a corresponding ebony and Satinwood strung long drawer, the whole resting on bun feet. Of fine colour and patina, and in excellent condition with various minor marks, scratches etc consistent with age and use. The handles are mid 18th Century replacements likely to update the look of the piece according to prevailing fashion of the time.
