Beautiful freestanding rosewood centre or library table, unsigned but clearly the work of Gillows of Lancaster and similar to designs in their sketch and estimate books for the 1820/1830 period.This is an unusual and imposingly large example.The rectangular well figured top with cabouchon beaded border over a plain frieze enclosing two mahogany lined drawers to each side. All in turn raised on bold baluster and unusual capstan turned pillars down to platform bases raised on distinctive scrolled and foliate carved feet and original brass castors.
