Miniature Mahogany Bracket Clock (England and France)

Description

An exceptionally rare bracket clock of diminutive proportions (just under 10 inches high including the handle) that dates from the Edwardian period. The case is in the style of a late 18th Century bracket clock, having a dome top, brass carrying handle, inset engraved fretwork panels and fishscale fret sides, with brass ogee bracket feet. It has a convex glass and a white enamel dial. The French 8 day movement strikes the hours and halves on a gong and was made by Marti of Paris.

Current Condition
